Frequently asked questions
Order Automator works 24/7 monitoring your orders and automatically doing tasks you'd normally do manually, like fulfilling orders, tagging orders and customers, sending notifications to staff or suppliers, and flagging or canceling fraudulent orders.
It also makes you money: Post Purchase Upsells add one-click offers after checkout to boost average order value, Fraud Guard helps you avoid chargeback losses, and Scheduled Automations send you reports (ex: best sellers, low stock alerts) so you can act fast.
One app replaces several single-purpose apps, saving on monthly app costs.
You enable features and create rules that tell the app what to do. When a new order comes in (or another event happens, like a refund or fulfillment), Order Automator compares the order data against your rules, and if it matches, the action triggers.
You can test any rule against a real order with the built-in Rule Tester before it runs, and use Batch Process to run rules on past orders. See How Order Automator Works for a quick start guide.
Create rules to automatically fulfill orders or line items: mark digital products fulfilled, send fulfillment requests to your 3PL or fulfillment service, change fulfillment locations, or place orders on hold. Rules can match specific products, locations, shipping methods, order values, and more.
Order Automator also works as a bridge to any fulfillment service connected to your Shopify store. Learn more in the Auto Fulfill docs.
Yes. Send custom order notification emails based on the contents of the order (ex: automatically email a vendor when an order contains their products). Notifications support dynamic variables, HTML formatting, CSV attachments, and purchase order PDFs.
You can also verify your own domain to send emails from your business email address. Learn more in the Notifications docs.
Connect your Amazon account to sync FBA inventory with Shopify and automatically fulfill Shopify orders using Amazon MCF (Multi-Channel Fulfillment). Order Automator supports Amazon marketplaces worldwide, including the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan, Mexico, and Europe.
Features include real-time inventory syncing, SKU mapping, shipping speed mapping, blank box and carrier options, and an Amazon Delivery Badge you can add to product pages to show estimated delivery dates. Learn more in the Amazon docs.
Show one-click offers after checkout, before the Thank You page. When a customer accepts, the product is added to their order and payment is processed automatically, with no re-entering payment info.
You can add discounts (percent or fixed), target offers with conditions (ex: products in the order, order total, shipping country), show a downsell if the first offer is declined, and track performance with built-in analytics. Learn more in the Post Purchase Upsells docs.
Schedule tasks to run automatically at specific days and times, recurring or one-time. Examples: email a best sellers report every Monday at 8 AM, get low stock alerts, receive a list of unfulfilled orders, or run a tag or fulfillment rule on a schedule.
Reports can include CSV attachments and can be filtered by location, tag, or vendor. Learn more in the Scheduled Automations docs.
Yes. Create custom messages on your order confirmation (Thank You) page to boost engagement: announcements, discount codes for the next order, links to guides or social channels. Messages can show on all orders or be targeted with conditions based on what the customer bought, and include view and click analytics. Learn more in the Thank You Page docs.
Fraud Guard is free and protects you from fraudulent orders and chargebacks. When Shopify flags an order as high or medium risk, Order Automator can automatically cancel it, put it on hold, notify you, and/or prevent it from being auto fulfilled.
There's also a Customer Blacklist: add names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses, and matching orders are automatically canceled, held, or flagged. Learn more in the Fraud Guard docs.
Automatically tag orders and customers based on conditions like products, shipping address, customer history, discount codes, fraud risk, and more. Tags can trigger on different events: new orders, order updates, refunds, and fulfillments.
You can use dynamic tag variables (ex: shipping method, discount code, date stamps), attach custom email notifications to tag rules, and batch process old orders. Learn more in the Auto Tag docs.
